Issue: Clean Water

We are investing in our communities to connect thousands of homes to sewers and this will help our economy as well. Water is our most precious resource as an island we depend on it for everything and we have to protect it.

  • Water is the lifeblood of Long Island, we depend on it for everything from food to tourism and even the water we drink is beneath our feet. We need to protect it.
  • Nitrogen pollution has caused damage to our most prized resource; water. Outdated technologies, old septic systems and old cesspools are literally dumping pollution into the water. This pollution has virtually killed our shellfish industry.
  • Through key investments, we are reversing decades in water quality decline and protecting our coastlines.

Investing In Our Future

  • Labor unions coupled with important leaders in the region fought to bring hundreds of millions of dollars down to Long Island to invest in sewer infrastructure.
  • We are investing to connect thousands of homes to sewers and this is going to help our economy as well. Water is our most precious resource as an island we depend on it for everything and we have to protect it.
